On the way to Rio's getaway, Búzios

 

A lot of people were still dozing, but we were going through parts of Rio that I did not know, so I was looking for things to take note of, such as this naval center

 

Here it is. The place that they took Brigitte Bardot to and who fell in love with it and bought a house here. I assume that on a sunny day, it would be very, very nice.

 

But we weren't having any of that. Instead it was a rather disappointing and boring day for me. Beyond the front row of houses you see here, many more have been built and this is a major weekend and vacation location for people from Rio.

 

We were lined up and stuck on these tourist boats for the mandatory excursion. The trip was only marred by music that was too loud, lack of sun, and by people walking around selling photo services and other things to the captive audience.

 

We finally got underway past the fishing fleet and the shoreline. There were to be two swimming stops. While I did bring my trunks but being alone, did not want to leave wallet, passport, and camera unattended. I was the only solo traveler on board. This was a family and young lovers' tour. Between reading a book on my tablet, I caught a few shots of women and their flotation devices having fun. No one to talk to either, I was at a table by myself.

 

 

Before boarding this particular boat I was on, I met and chatted with the girl you see here on the other boat. Also an amateur photographer and very nice to chat with.

 

That other boat was run much better. The captain would always go way closer to the shore than ours, as you can see here. We stood way off from the land. I'm still angry about that.

 

 

 

 

You can see how the moneyed Brazilians enjoyed themselve here. The building with the tower, way up on the hill, so we were told, was owned by Ronaldo, Brazil's premier soccer star.

 

To add insult to injury, the other boat even had this bird land on it.
